It is seen before the letterhead or brochures.  Sometimes it is the envelope that is the determining factor, when the client is deciding to open the mail piece or not. When designing your envelope, consider adding a unique element that represents your business – a unique image or logo. 
You might want to consider including your company motto or website on your envelope.  But it is important to also keep font and type size legible.   If the envelope does not clearly give the business name or address, this could be a deterrent for the recipient.
